Beware Social Media Scams – the mistruths we come to know as Scams are literally everywhere, from TV Commercials to Sponsored Google Ads, from radio to retail displays, but most of all . . . social media!  I’ll be quick and blunt.  Most, and I mean more than 97% of what is “sold,” “pushed,” “endorsed,” “plugged,” or “revealed” in TikTok and Instagram videos, reels and shorts is bullshit.  Not “sort of legit.”  Just plain B.S. and it’s that BS-fueled hype that makes a lot of money for the new Influencers.  Lest you think this has anything to do with my emotion or opinion, it doesn’t.  It’s fact.  Researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard University analyzed the promotional features of the 233 most-viewed TikTok videos as of June 2022 in the U.S. with the hashtags #dietpills, #preworkout, and #detox. (The study was published in the Journal Eating Behaviors, Dec 2024) and revealed that over 97% were void of any substantiation to back appearance or claims.  Yet people buy.

 

Same Old D / Different Wrapping – Diets, for over 100 years, have been based on calorie deprivation.  While the offerings have become more sophisticated, introducing trendy titles such as Keto, Carnivore, and Paleo, and while the “plant-based” frenzy is driven by a mix of truth and omission, cutting calories is a surefire way, over time, to slow metabolism, and although rational thought often takes a diet-induced hike, any repetitive dieter has evidence to back up the statement.  They lose, they gain, they blame themselves.  The fact is, diets have been notorious for creating short-term reduction of pounds while eating away at metabolic efficiency and programming bodies to become fatter.  That hasn’t changed.  The key to “eating to lose fat” is, has been, and will always be “eating in a healthful manner that optimizes digestion, biochemistry, metabolism, and blood sugar.  Despite everything I just said, more than 50% of Americans will “try” calorie-or-nutrient-restricted diets this New Year and . . . well . . . those very same people will in all likelihood have yet a greater struggle with “weight” in 2026.

GLP1 – this is the big news.  A “drug” for weight loss, and evidence delivered on TV Commercials that people are in fact losing lots of weight.  It’s beyond a craze.  It’s a frenzy.  Based on the TV commercial you like, or the word on the stress, you can now choose from Ozempic (the Ozempic Tri-Zone), Wegovy (to the tune of a song from the Greatest Showman), Jardiance (I’m lowering my A1C and dancing around town), or Mounjaro.  You can find medical “clinics,” weight loss centers, and even online portals where you can get “semaglutide,” and you’re led to believe these wonder drugs are using something called GLP1 as a miraculous fat burner.  The truth may shock you.  The side effects are understated an very real.  The outlook for many of those committed to these drugs is potentially perilous.

WHAT WORKS?

The Simple Technique is a fail-proof 2-Step Process, and in order for ANY fat loss program to have lasting benefit, it must involve these two steps.  Step #1: Adipose material (free fatty acids) must be released from a fat cell and sent into the bloodstream .  Step #2:  It has to travel into the mitochondria of the muscle cell to be burned.  That’s how human lose bodyfat.  It’s the only way nature allows.  The good news is, with a strategic exercise plan (not at all overwhelming or over-burdensome) and a simple eating strategy (glycogen manipulation) it’s a sure-path to success.
