The Giant Personal Training Lies That Cripple Your Income
And How You Can Rise Above and Build a $4 million business in the wake of a Pandemic
Yes. There are two massive lies that pervade our industry. They lead to the exchange of tens of billions of dollars . . . and nobody wins.
Nobody.
Except perhaps large supplement companies, large health club chains, sellers of exercise equipment, and manufacturers of technology.
In the large scheme of things, the one who is absolutely going to fall short in the financial reward column is . . . the trainer.
That can change instantly with the insight I'm willing to share. Most people will NOT read this all the way through, and that's part of the reason so few will rise to the top.
I can promise you this. If you don't read this, you will NOT benefit from the strategies, powers, and opportunities I'm about to reveal.
Stop and ask yourself a question.
Should you read any further?
Is this simply some conspiracy theory shit applied to our industry?
Can there really be big lies that affect your income directly?
Here's the next all-important question.
Are you earning what you believe you deserve?
Think about it before you answer.
If the answer is, "no, despite the fact that I became certified, found clients, work hard, and stay true to my passion I AM NOT EARNING AS I DESERVE," consider the possibility that I have something important to share.
Consider that your income limitation is based on a number of things, all stemming from the massive and far-reaching power of two gigantic lies. If you're open to that consideration, then read on with your full attention. I suspect your life is about to change.
What can I teach you?
- How to literally create your own calendar, never feeling victimized by client changes or cancels
- How to create "a pipeline funnel" that immediately separates true leads from time wasters giving you the power to select your clientele
- How to market to an audience that sees you as the ONLY option for their health needs
- How to, whether you train people in their homes or in your studio to earn between $150,000 and $1/2 million per year . . . as a Personal Trainer
- How to deliver insane results that not only thrill your clients, but turn them into evangelists for your business
Those bullet points are simply a glimpse of what you can accomplish, and as I'm sure you'll agree, none of those achievements are "the norm."
THE FIRST THING YOU HAVE TO DO IS BREAK FROM "THE NORM"
Let's start by realizing "the masses are not the achievers."
When clusters of people in any field buy into mistruths, the steps that they take, based on flawed information, become "the norm." The "norm" in our field is to study, work hard, and under-earn.
Because of the lies.
There are many who will deny these lies and in that they doom themselves to failure, or at best, a career of mediocrity without a financial safety net.
- Do you have savings to secure your future retirement?
- Investments that will bear dividends far into the future?
- A business that you can sell for more than $750,000 when you decide enough's enough?
Most trainers don't.
Beginning now, you can change everything in your own life, earn hundreds of thousands or more, and reach a new pinnacle of success while staying 100% true to your fitness passion, once you understand how to shift above the limitations of the lies.
I'll show you how.
Before I go any further, and reveal the first of the two lies, I want to make a few important statements.
I am not cynical. Much the opposite. You and I are kindred spirits and the future is bright.
My name is Phil Kaplan and I am a personal trainer.
I share this with you to present you with truth and opportunity "the industry" will never reveal.
Few in the world are as qualified as I am to make statements about our field, as I've been an industry insider, a top earner, a consultant for some of the icons and legends in our field, and I do it all with the heart of my career origin.
I said it before, I'll say it again.
I am a personal trainer.
I also happen to be a personal trainer who has helped over 7,500 trainers excel . . . and I've done so over the course of more than 20 years.
With that said, I'm 100% sincere when I say, "there's no better time than right now, in the wake of COVID19, to step into a new realm of power and profit, a realm where truth overrides the lies."
I once believed the lies. Then I learned. It's your turn.
I'll go on . . .
All trainers choose their career paths based on their passion. You, no doubt, are one of them.
Trainers accept their roles with a noble undertaking committing to help others. That, in itself, is a part of the driving passion.
In believing that the personal training field has rules, requirements, and standards, the pursuit of professionalism takes shape.
As trainers pursue excellence, as they strive to be "good" or "great" trainers, they are almost forced to make peace with the idea that they’ll compromise, that they’ll trade the promise of great wealth for the ability to be do-gooders and although they may not be living lives of abundance, they sleep well at night.
Trainers are, for the most part, good people, with caring hearts and a longing for recognition and professionalism, and they find it easier to justify a modest income when they learn to associate “big business” with thievery, scammers, and unethical operators chasing the almighty dollar.
When we can create a polarization, an "us vs. them" scenario, a good guys vs. bad guys paradigm, we somehow feel better about what we do, but let’s put an end to that right now.
Most millionaires are small business owners, most small business owners run ethical business, and virtually all of them went from business infancy to prime by serving people and serving people well.
In my life, most of the true earners I’ve known have gone through extensive schooling, training, and practice (physicians, surgeons, attorneys), have been mentored by and raise up under financial wizards, or have followed a dream with sound investment, pure passion and . . . this is the biggie . . . a clear path for wealth.
That suggests they were either educated and guided into what we could call a profession, or they were entrepreneurs with heart, clarity on the need for risk and aggressive energy output, and a map to follow as a clear path for wealth.
Trainers aren’t either.
They aren’t guided along an educational path that leads to a $130,000 salary, as a Physician’s Assistant or Pharmacist would be, and they aren’t able to follow an entrepreneurial model that assures them that energy output can lead to wealth.
They study, work hard, walk the talk, become their businesses, compromise their desires, their free time, and their time with friends and family, and . . . in all fairness should scream out the question, "Where's the Payoff?"
For most, there isn't one.
Are there wealthy trainers? Yes, but they’ve either leveraged their training persona to generate or attach to new revenue streams, they had a rare entrepreneurial knack or mentor, or their charismatic personalities made them leaders in a given niche as “celebrity trainers.” Trust me when I tell you, they make up a trifling of those who call themselves “Fitness Professionals.”
Does that anger you? I don’t mean the fact, I mean the fact that I’m saying what I’m saying?
You can allow your blood pressure to elevate if you choose. You can confront me with a disparaging comment. Or . . . you can face what I know to be a truth and allow that truth to serve you. Massively.
Personal training is not a profession with any promise of security. It simply isn’t.
Unless you secure a corporate training position and stay with the company for 25 years, there’s no pension plan, no 401K, no retirement fund, and no assuredness of income if you’re injured, sick, or just plain tired of training.
So, here’s the first lie, exposed.
Personal training is a viable profession.
That’s the lie.
It isn’t.
That’s the truth.
Before I get to the second lie, I want you to reposition. To chill, just a bit.
This isn’t an indictment of you, of a choice you made, or of your abilities. It’s simply a truth that will empower you as soon as you’re willing to accept it and take some actions accordingly.
In fact, if you’re willing to confront the second truth (it has to do with the outcomes personal trainers deliver), and you’re willing to rise above the current state of our industry, I’m about to present you with an entirely new awareness, and with it, the most explosive opportunity you’ve ever seen for you to realign and move toward wealth.
The limitation is in the lie(s).
The power is in the truth.
